Evaluating implementation and impact
WHRTN is in the second phase of the overall network’s evaluation, assessing the implementation and impact of the four programs, particularly the co-production grants.
The evaluation will enable us to understand the impact of our programs and grants on the careers of women in research, and the health and wellbeing of Australian women.
We are conducting a multicomponent mixed-method evaluation of WHRTN over the five-year grant period. This evaluation provides a comprehensive assessment of the implementation and impacts of WHRTN across its four sub-committees: (1) Research, (2) Consumer and Community Involvement (CCI), (3) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement, and (4) Workforce Development.
Data collection methods include quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with diverse stakeholders and consumers, template analysis of reports from WHRTN grant recipients, and collation of administrative data.
The evaluation commenced in 2020, with the first phase delivered to stakeholders in 2022, mid-way through the grant period. The second phase is well underway, focusing on the implementation and outcomes of the co-production grants.
