Leadership

Professor Helena Teede

Lead and Chair of Research Sub-committee

Prof. Teede led the establishment of the WHRTN. She is a reproductive endocrinologist and NHMRC Leader Investigator Fellow, the Executive Director of Monash Partners Research Translation Centre, and the lead on the NHMRC funded initiative, Advancing Women in Healthcare Leadership and Women in Leadership Program. Helena is passionate about supporting the careers of women, about research and translation that improves the lives of women and their families, and about large scale collaboration with women and stakeholders, founded on understanding and together addressing problems through research and translation to impact.

 
 

Professor Deborah Turnbull

Chair of Steering Committee

Prof. Deborah Turnbull is the co-chair of the WHRTN South Australian chapter and is professor in psychology at the University of Adelaide.  She has a master’s degree in clinical psychology and a PhD in social epidemiology.  Her research program in women’s health spans areas including maternity services, breast cancer screening and endometriosis.  Her group has been recently researching into paid menstrual leave.  Current and past roles include chair of the University of Adelaide’s Gender Equity and Diversity Committee and board member of the Kathleen Lumley Foundation.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee provides strategic direction and leadership in building national collaborations and support platforms in women’s health research and translation to deliver health impact for Australian women. It also advocates and supports the advancement of gender equity and enhances career development for women, with a focus on underrepresented groups.
